Message(s) from Peter Brooks regarding the 2021 Hayes Office Xmas Lunch at the White hart:-
Oct 11th 2021
Hi everyone,
Here is an update on the bookings:
Accepted: Peter, Dave (Baumohl), Jay, Nick, Pat, John, Tony, Dave (Overton).
Can’t attend: Richard, Ann, Noel, Jan (Bushen).
May attend: Bob, Guy, Dave and Tina, Chris (Tucker), Roger. (Dave Blyth may pop round for a drink).
Not heard from: Carmen, Chris Walker, Geoff, Karl, Will, Val, Alan, Jock, Mel.
I’ve provisionally booked a Christmas Menu meal for 10 people at the White Hart for 1.30 on Tuesday, 21st December. I’ll forward you the menu some time soon. I phoned the pub and spoke to a man called Jackson on Saturday. He asked for the pre-orders to be in by two weeks before the date of the meal, so there is plenty of time for menu choice. Probably got some leeway to increase the number of people attending too, but do let me know asap from that regard.
It’s great to hear from you all. I expect we won’t even notice the missing year when we see one another again, though, looking through my email folder just now, I did receive lots of really nice emails last year, which gave much pleasure.
In case I forget, Noel sends his regards to one and all.
Pat: a job for you. If you know any new mailing addresses that I might be missing for any of the ‘Not heard from’ group, please let me know.
Finally, in case some of you hadn’t heard, I have some sad news. Our dear Jan Robinson passed away earlier this year. We should all raise a glass to her memory when we meet.
Oct 9th 2021 - "Hi everyone,
I’ve had a few people come back to me on my Christmas meal enquiry
(Dave Baker, Dave Baumohl, John, Guy, Chris, Bob, Anne and Richard).
Most have been asking for a date for the meal. So I have gone ahead and provisionally booked
Tuesday, 21st December at 1.30pm (at the White Hart, of course).
Oct 7th 2021 - Hi Everyone, Just checked with the White Hart webpage: yes, it’s open (the pub, not the webpage) and advertising a Christmas Menu.
Before I consider booking, I thought it prudent to inquire about your frame of mind and subsequent interest in a get-together. I have left this a bit later in the year than I would normally, but, again, I thought it prudent to wait until the potential increase in covid cases caused by the return-to-school had worked its way through society.
As we still have a stable, if not entirely satisfactory, situation, I thought it was time to act.
I would ‘normally’ book a table for twelve, but I can’t rely on that template this time. So, could you please let me know ASAP if you would like to attend.
Enough for the moment. My best wishes to everybody; hope you have all been keeping well".
Please do let me know ASAP if you would like to come or, equally important, don’t yet feel confident enough to do so.
I’ll try to keep you all updated with the progress".
Best wishes,
Peter.
